Welcome to the Wales Biomass Centre

Wales Biomass Centre is an umbrella name for the various energy crop research projects currently being undertaken by staff at the Cardiff University Llysdinam Field Centre.

Our Field to Farmer energy crop project is funded through European Objective 1 European Regional Development Fund structural funds which are administered by the Welsh European Funding Office on behalf of the Welsh Assembly Government. The project aim is to progress energy crop research into a commercial farm scale within Objective 1 areas of Wales. Cardiff University are the project leaders in partnership with the National Botanic Gardens of Wales, ADAS Wales and several growers.
